Subaru Announces 2018 Crosstrek As First Plug-In Hybrid

Subaru officially announced its first plug-in hybrid model - the 2019 Crosstrek Hybrid, that will enter the U.S. Subaru named its plug-in hybrid simply Hybrid, like the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, which means maybe they don’t want to focus on the electrification aspect of the car. Of course, this is quite a confusing name too, as the Crosstrek Hybrid has been around for a few years now, but in conventional hybrid form, not plug-in.

Although Subaru has a great reputation with their automobiles as being safe and reliable, they have been one of the car manufacturers that has taken a “watch-and-wait” approach to the crossover craze that has been happening in the auto world. Now, their Crosstrek has really boosted their sales streak with their line of SUVs, and their Subaru Crosstrek has given Subaru reason to believe their 2018 Crosstrek will keep it going.
